Would it be possible to add a link to the property on a map?

Would it be possible to add a link to the property on a map?

Postby carol_13073 on Mon Oct 15, 2007 10:01 am

I ask this, as I don't know all the small places in France and it takes me ages to find them. Back along, before the redesign of IFP some agents used to put links to a map where the house was actually situated. I found this very handy and would really love the web designers to add it in for all properties.

What do other think?

Would you like it?

I am sorry if this is the wrong place to post, but could not find a link from their web site, except to the forums....

Hi Carol,

Thank you for the suggestion and valuable feedback.

I totally agree with your suggestion; the maps were an extremely useful visual aid for deterimining the location of a property. Unfortunately this functionality was lost when we relaunched the IFP website for the 3rd time last year. I have spoken with the developers about your request and I hope to have the maps reinserted early next year once the current phase of website development is complete.

I hope this helps to answer your questions. Please continue to forward your suggestions as they are invaluable to the constant development of the website..

Best regards,

Sounds like a good idea to me, because I've had the same difficulties. The multiple agency practice seems to be a real source of paranoia about revealing locations : generally, agents will not take you to view properties until you have put your signature on a document to testify that THEY have made the introduction. [Well - from their point of view: if you know the address you could just nip out, knock on the door and strike a private deal with the seller that short-circuits the agent out of his commission and livelihood ...!]. But I still think they could be a BIT more forthcoming about addresses when you're trying to find a property in a particular area ....
